Angharad Brown
Specialist Orthodontist
BDS MScD (Wales) FDS MOrth RCS Ed FDS (Orth), GDC No: 69789
Angharad qualified in Dentistry at Cardiff in 1994 and gained a fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 1996. After a variety of hospital posts and three years in general dental practice, Angharad began her 3 year Specialist Orthodontic training in 1999. Following this, she spent a further 4½ years in advanced specialist clinical training, leading to a fellowship in Orthodontics (FDS(Orth)) and a consultant post.
In 2007, Angharad was appointed as Consultant Orthodontist at the Royal Gwent Hospital but continues to have an active role in teaching at the Dental Hospital in Cardiff and is an Educational Supervisor for senior specialist trainees. She also worked as a Specialist Practitioner in a practice in Cardiff from 2003 until 2010 when she then joined Newport Orthodontic Centre.
She is registered with the General Dental Council as a Specialist in Orthodontics, she is a member of the British Orthodontic Society, The British Lingual Orthodontic Society, and an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
Angharad has a special interest in those cases which require multi-disciplinary care, involving restorative dentistry, and surgery to correct underlying jaw discrepancies. She is a registered Invisalign and Incognito practitioner. Angharad is also a fluent Welsh speaker.
Sarah Merrett
Specialist Orthodontist

Sarah commenced her dental training in 1995 at Cardiff Dental School and received her Bachelor of Dental Studies with Honours in 2000 along with prizes in oral biochemistry and orthodontics. Following this she worked at a variety of dental and maxillofacial departments and in 2002 she obtained her Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery (MFDS) from the Royal College of Surgeons of England and Edinburgh.
After a year in general practice and three years in hospital dentistry she commenced her specialist orthodontic training at Cardiff Dental Hospital and after three years qualified with MOrth from the Royal College of Edinburgh, and an MPhil from Cardiff University.
Following an additional 2 years’ consultant training in 2009, Sarah was appointed as Consultant Orthodontist and Honorary Senior Lecturer at Cardiff Dental Hospital. Sarah actively contributes to specialist and consultant training in Wales. She is an Edinburgh Royal College examiner and enjoys being involved in writing papers for clinical journals and orthodontic research.
She is registered with the General Dental Council as a Specialist in Orthodontics and is a member of the British Orthodontic Society. Sarah is an active Invisalign provider.
Sarah has been working at Newport Orthodontic Centre since April 2010 and became Principal with her business partner Angharad Brown in 2022.
Sarah enjoys developing a clinical relationship with her patients and watching their confidence grow as the treatment progresses. She has a special interest in Children’s Orthodontics and Adult Orthodontics involving multidisciplinary care.
On the weekend Sarah can be found at the side of a hockey or rugby pitch supporting her children or walking in the countryside with her husband and dogs.
Adam Bowkett
Specialist Orthodontist
BDS (Bris) MScD (Wales) MFDS RCS (Ed) IMOrth RCS (Eng), GDC No: 177063
Adam is a General Dental Council registered ‘Specialist in Orthodontics’. He graduated in Dentistry from the University of Bristol in 2009 winning the University Gold Medal, Dentsply award for Excellence, Claudius Ash Prize for Oral Surgery and Oral Medicine Prize. After working in general practice in Wiltshire, Adam joined the Royal United Hospital in Bath as a Maxillofacial Senior House Officer.
In 2011, Adam Relocated to his native South Wales and worked in the University Dental Hospital, Cardiff and surrounding NHS Community Clinics before commencing his specialist training in 2012 at University Dental Hospital Cardiff and Morriston Hospital in Swansea.
During his specialist training pathway, Adam secured a Santander Postgraduate Scholarship in 2012 and the Clement Chan Orthodontic Prize and Scholarship in 2014.
Adam completed his Orthodontic Specialist training with a Masters Degree in Orthodontics from Cardiff University in 2015 and membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of England completing the IMOrth RCS Eng qualification.
Adam has occasionally been involved in education and research but now enjoys working exclusively in practice treating both children and adults. Adam is a certified Invisalign provider, is particularly good with nervous patients and is a member of the British Orthodontic Society.
Megan Faulkner
Specialist Orthodontist
BDS MSc MFDS (RCS Ed) MOrth (RCS Ed) FDS (Orth) GDC No: 209665
Megan studied Dentistry at the University of Liverpool and qualified in 2011. Following this, she has had a range of hospital positions including within the area of Maxillofacial Surgery. Megan then went on to specialise in Orthodontics and completed her 3 year training at Guy’s Hospital in London and Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital in Brighton in 2018. This led to a Masters in Orthodontics, successful completion of Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh Membership exams and addition to the General Dental Council’s Specialist list in Orthodontics.
She then carried out her Orthodontic Consultant training in South Wales at University Dental Hospital Cardiff and the Royal Gwent Hospital and successfully completed her Fellowship exams. Megan has worked at Newport Orthodontic Centre as a Specialist Orthodontist since early 2021. She has also been appointed as a Consultant Orthodontist at the Royal Gwent Hospital and treats a variety of complex cases.
Megan enjoys going to the gym, spending time with family and friends and exploring the world.
Claire Seaborne
Practice Manager
I have been the Practice Manager since 2021 and my job is extremely varied on a daily basis. I manage the day-to-day operations and compliance of the practice, providing a diverse skill mix ranging from people management and marketing to finance, facilities and administration. Always ensuring that the business processes run in a streamlined fashion and always ensuring best practice.
We have a great team here at Newport Orthodontic Centre who are always very willing and approachable. My background isn’t in dentistry but I have been able to gain a vast amount of clinical knowledge while being here.
In my spare time you will either find me in my beloved campervan with my dogs travelling around, water sporting or studying my BSc Business and Management degree.
Eloise Wotman
Orthodontic Therapist
GDC No: 269369
I qualified as a dental nurse from Cardiff University in 2016. In 2018 I joined Newport Orthodontic Centre to pursue my passion and interest in orthodontics.
I have undertaken additional duties such as impression taking, fluoride application and my radiography exam.
Outside of work I enjoy playing netball, socialising, and going on holiday.
Anna Haywood
Lead Dental Nurse

I began working as a dental nurse in 1999, then qualified in 2002. I have worked in a general practice NHS & Private, the community dental service, UDH and currently at Newport Orthodontic Centre. I hold additional qualifications in impression taking and dental radiography.
I have two beautiful daughters that take up most of my spare time but I also enjoy getting together with friends and family.
Louise Theaker

My Name is Louise and I have been a dental nurse for over 20 years. Most of my dental nurse career has been in a hospital setting but I joined Newport Orthodontic Centre in 2021.
When I’m not in work I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, eating out, walking my dogs and reading.
Su Blake
Dental Nurse / Receptionist. GDC No:162542
I have over 30 years’ experience in working in both General dentist and Orthodontist practices. During this time I have become a registered dental nurse and have attained qualifications in the following areas, impression taking, business and administration, customer service and team leading.
My interests include eating out, walking the dog and Pilates.
Lola Morten

I qualified as a Dental Nurse via Tooth Fairies in June 2021. I have recently started here at Newport Orthodontic Centre to pursue my interest in Orthodontics.
I love my job because I get to learn something new every day when being faced with new challenges. I am very keen to continue learning by completing additional qualifications like Radiography and impression taking.
In my spare time I love walking my Shih Tzu called Obie and socialising with friends on the weekend.
Janet Lambert
Receptionist
I started working as a receptionist in Newport Orthodontic Centre in 2019 having previously worked within the NHS for 35 Years where I trained as a dental nurse in the University Dental Hospital. I then went on to become a senior nurse in the special care dentistry and the Community Dental Services Manager. My qualifications include PGCE ad ILM Level 5 in leadership and Management.
On a personal note I enjoy cooking at home.
Jane Keyse
Receptionist
I joined Newport Orthodontic Centre in 2017 as a receptionist. After working for 36 years in General dentistry starting as a dental nurse/ receptionist before becoming head receptionist.
My interest includes travelling, yoga and walking.
Mohima Islam
Dental Nurse
I joined Newport Orthodontic Centre in 2017 where I began working as a receptionist, I then went on to complete my dental nursing qualification and qualified in 2021.
I enjoy the daily challenges that I face and spending quality time with the team. This role enables me to keep learning along my journey throughout my dental nursing career.
My hobbies include going to the gym and spending time with my family.
Chantel Connor

I started working at Newport Orthodontic Centre in January 2023. I am currently a trainee. I am looking forward to starting my dental nursing course and achieving the goals I want to achieve. I am looking forward to being a fully qualified dental nurse.
Outside of work I like to spend time with family and go on walks.
Georgie Costigan
Receptionist
I Joined the team in Feb 2024 as a receptionist. Although I have no experience in Dentistry, I have a strong background in customer service, thriving on challenges and constantly seeking opportunities to learn and grow in new areas. I love spending time with my family and have a passion for travelling and exploring new destinations.
Amelia Byrne
Trainee Dental Nurse
I began my career as a Trainee Dental Nurse in May 2024 at Newport Orthodontic Centre. I hope to continue developing my role within the practice, to expand my skills and knowledge and to progress towards my goals.
In my leisure time I enjoy reading, playing badminton and scrap booking.
Thank you so much for all you have done for me – I really couldn’t have done it without your care and attention. My confidence is back and I can smile once more. I love my teeth!
